MY SUNDAE
WALT write a report on whales.
Whales
Whales breathe by using lungs and they give birth to live babies not eggs. Whales are mammals and they are the biggest sea creature.
There are two groups of whales. One group of whales have teeth and one group of whales do not have teeth. Whales without teeth open their mouth up wide to collect many small fish. Whales eat 8 tonnes of food every day.
When a baby calf whale is born, it feeds from its mother’s milk. When calves are young, they stick with their mother until they know how to swim and dive and how to look for their own fish. Sometimes whales get stranded from storm and are terrified by that scary storm. Whales have blow holes for breathing and when they come up, the water goes out so high up to ten metres high. Whales breathe by using their lungs.
Whales are the biggest animal in the world and they have a pretty massive tail. Blue whales are the biggest animal in the whole world. Blue whales can grow up to 33 metres long. Whales sleep by floating on the water with their blow hole above the water. They just float till the next day and then they wake up and start swimming around in the nice blue ocean.
Whales keep in touch with each other by thumping their tail, making clicking and squeaking sounds. Whales hear by the echo of the sound. Whales are very good listeners than kids.
Whales swim with their tail going up and down instead of side to side. They use their flippers to turn around in the water.
